Jacob's needs are being met in terms of services. He is greeted happily daily, both upon arrival and departure. Staff knows what Jacob needs in terms of safety, security and necessity. He is assisted with activities, eating meals, toileting and in various other situations.
Skills are being worked on as per his goals as set in our annual meetings.
The communication has improved. Depending upon which staff has been with Jacob for the day, I get reports of his daily activity each and every day. Sometimes it's very detailed, which I greatly appreciate. Sometimes it's less detailed. I then request further information and am always provided more information regarding the day. If staff have any type of questions regarding Jacob's likes, dislikes, abilities, safety concerns etc., they never hesitate to ask me about it. Communication is very open I feel. It is much appreciated!
The atmosphere seems good. I've been inside more often lately and clients always seem happy. They eagerly say hello to me and depending on whether Jacob is arriving or leaving, many of them greet Jacob regularly and with excitement. The outings are fun for Jacob. He loves to get out and about and it's definitely best to get outside with the weather starting to warm up. Some weeks they go out quite often and others not much at all. Often the decision is weather dependent, which I understand. I also appreciate staff keeping Jacob and the other clients safely inside when the weather is too cold or too hot.
Staff in place currently are very solid.
The turnover has slowed as compared to after COVID. I think every staff that you have in place truly cares about each client and really has their best interests at heart. This means so much! Outings are fun and Jacob seems to enjoy his time at BLI. Jacob's happy and smiling on the way in each morning and happy when I pick him up each day. Any concerns I have ever had are corrected immediately after having the appropriate conversations. Notes home each day have improved and staff seeks out activities appropriate both for Jacob as well as all clients.
We are thankful for the care that BLI provides each day for Jacob.
